New Process to Order Rutgers-Branded Merchandise

Members of the Rutgers Community,

Over the past year, University Communications and Marketing and University Procurement Services have partnered on a strategic sourcing project that will allow departments to purchase Rutgers-branded merchandise. Our primary goal was to make the process less confusing and to leverage universitywide spending in this category to create volume-based discounts for Rutgers. According to the university’s trademark licensing policy, a supplier must have a Rutgers license to produce merchandise including the university’s name and logos.

We are pleased to announce the new and easier process for departments to order Rutgers-branded merchandise through the “swag portal”! The portal can be accessed by using your NetID and password to log in to swag.rutgers.edu or via the Branded Swag by Consolidus punchout tile in RU Marketplace. Please refer to the quick start guide for guidance on how to use the portal.

Consolidus, our primary licensed supplier that hosts the new swag portal, is contracted with the university to offer discounted pricing, free standard shipping, excellent customer service, and design support to the Rutgers community. This approach combines the ease of online shopping with a university logo library, streamlined approvals of artwork, purchase orders through punchout, and electronic invoicing and payments.

We reduced the number of licensed suppliers to create volume discounts, while being conscientious about licensing suppliers that offer specialty merchandise and services and qualified small businesses (owned by minorities, women, and veterans) that are located in our neighboring communities.
